Rodrigo Comprido Madeiros Parts Ways With FLOMMA

Long time BJJ coach and instructor at FLOMMA, Rodrigo Comprido Madeiros  has decided to part ways with the MMA.BJJ academy located at 709 South Vermont Street  Palatine, IL 60067 citing personal reasons.

Statement taken from Compridos official Facebook page.

“I would like to inform all my friends that as of last wednesday (09/Nov/11) I have concluded my partnership from FloMMA and effective immediately, FLO no longer represents my self or my team BRASA.
Leaving this partnership was my own decision since I no longer felt comfortable in developing my line of work there. I apologize to the students who noticed my performance going down. Even though we have accomplished some important results in the Worlds, European, Pan and of course our team title at the Chicago Open, I believe we can actually do much better than that.
It would not be fair to my students, friends, family, partner and especially to my self to keep working and offering a lower performance than I am capable of, so due to this reason I have decided the best solution would be to open a new academy on my own some time soon.
In the mean time I will try to find a place to keep teaching and as soon as I have my new location I will post on my FB and Twitter.
Before leaving Flomma academy I offered to leave for a month my friend and instructor Jonatas Novaes until they could reorganize, but the owners choose to have someone else.
Thanks for the support and friendship. I look forward to many years of training ahead. “

While we are sad to hear the news that Comprido will no longer be a part of FLOMMA, we at JiuJitsuSweep.com are certain the 2x black belt open weight world champion  will excel in his new adventure and hopefully he will open his own academy soon as he is a world class grappler , an amazing BJJ coach and an incredible person as well. We wish him all the best in his new endeavors.
