In a 360 turnaround the former banished UFC bantamweight fighter from Northwest Indiana has now been reinstated after a few weeks of being released. Miguel Torres has been reinstated following his recent Twitter joke regarding rape ( see original story here ) that angered Dana White and the UFC.
The former WEC Bantamweight Champion and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt was in attendance at the UFC 141 press conference where he met with reporters after the end of the question and answer session with UFC president Dana White .
Following his release from the UFC at the beginning of December, Miguel Torres had issued a statement saying ” I am very sorry for upsetting my bosses at the UFC and everyone else who was upset buy the language in my tweets, i understand it was wrong and i meant no harm or disrespect. Given the chance i will do whatever it takes to make things right ” Well according to Dana White he redeemed himself .
Now Miguel and ZUFFA have made amends over the situation after Torres donated to a local rape center and visited them on his own doing after the incident on Twitter. Torres will now join the bantamweight roster for the UFC and will Tweet with more discretion.
We hope the BJJ black belt had learned his lesson when making public statements a tinge off color. And despite his Tweet, we still hope for the best for him.
